I am interested in studying algorithms of data processing and learning in biological neural networks and harnessing these algorithms to artificial data processing systems, including, but no limited to, computer vision, speech recognition, information extraction, storage and retrieval. These algorithms could be exploited in low power and high performance computational systems for mobile applications – robotics, wearable devices, and medical applications – hearing aids and other prostheses, which require processing of sensory information.
