As an outcome of the RAMP EU project (https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/612058) the project interdisciplinary team set up a system where cultured rat nerve cells in Italy could send in real-time action potentials to silicon neurons on an INI neuromorphic processor chip, via plastic memristive synapses in UK.
