The Capo Caccia Cognitive Neuromorphic Engineering Workshop
Members of the Institute of Neuroinformatics organize, since 2007, a yearly workshop in Sardinia, Italy on Cognitive Neuromorphic Engineering. The goals of this workshop are to promote research and education in neuroscience, neuromorphic engineering, cognitive sciences, machine learning and robotics; to discuss about the open problems in these fields; and to attempt to find routes to their resolution.
The workshop takes place close to the town of Alghero, Italy at the Hotel Dei Pini. Morning discussion sessions are followed by afternoon and evening hands-on work-groups, tutorials and discussion groups. Prominent experimental neuroscientists, machine learning experts and neuromorphic engineers work together for two weeks with students and post-docs, with state-of-the-art neuromorphic hardware, robotic platforms and software algorithms.
The workshop is complementary to the extremely successful Telluride Neuromorphic Engineering Workshop, organized yearly in the US. Both series of workshops are organized in unison to promote the growth of the Neuromorphic Engineering field, and to optimize continuity and impact.
