I received my first university training in psychology, followed by a masters and doctoral degree (at New York University - NYU) in experimental psychology with a focus on neurobiology.. I became a passionate neuroscientist during my post-doc years at the Center for Neural Science of NYU. I have always been fascinated by perception and the relation between neural signals and perceptual phenomena, particularly in the visual domain. My later positions in medical schools have led me to also develop a strong interest in clinical neuroscience. I thus try to combine these interests in my current research projects. My other interests include sports, music, politics, and science education.
