After completing my apprenticeship as a biology laboratory assistant at Novartis AG and several years in eye remedy research, I started working as a laboratory technician for Prof. Kevan Martin doing histology, histochemistry, light- and electron microscopy, image processing, 3D- reconstruction and animation.

The scientific operation at the universities is in a constant state of change and the laboratory environment is becoming increasingly mechanized. Since I am interested in electronics, I trained part-time as a dipl. Technician HF Elektronik at the higher technical college in Uster. After successful graduation and an award for the best diploma thesis, I started to integrate the acquired knowledge into my work in the group of Prof. Giacomo Indiveri, focusing on PCB design, support of chip procurement, general hard- and software issues.

In addition, I am responsible for biological and chemical safety as well as radiation protection at the institute (BSO, CSO, RSO).
