Before joining the NSC program in Fall 2016, I obtained my bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Here, I studied both molecular and cellular biology and chemistry and was also a student-athlete by being a member of the women's soccer team.

My research interests tend to be quite broad, ranging from tissue engineering to neuroprosthetics and polymer physics. However, I am primarily interested in technologies that have a realistic potential of impacting a patient, whether it's through treatment itself or the path to get there (diagnosis). This aligns well with Prof. Hierlemann's group, which I am working with to determine electrophysiological biomarkers of human-derived neurons for drug targeting of neuronal diseases such as Parkinson's and ALS.

Besides playing soccer and going to the mountains in my free time, I enjoy having pun joke-offs with Carsten and Soren in the master's area. My favorite television channel is the same as the rest of INI and its NSC students: The Neural Network.
