Thanuja is interested in pattern recognition in biomedical images and investigating neuroanatomical structures and their changes due to various stimuli. His work includes segmentation of neuron slices on individual EM sections, post-acquisition compensation methods to improve the accuracy of volumetric statistics obtained from image volumes and the analysis of anatomical structures using semi-automatic and automatic image processing methods.
