I have received my master in mathematical and natural sciences at the Jagiellonian University in Cracow, Poland. During my PhD conducted at the Friedrich Miescher Institute and University of Basel I have studied the connectivity of the motor controlling circuits in developing spinal cord. During my post doctoraI project with prof R. Hahnloser I have been studying neural mechanisms underlying vocal production and vocal learning in songbirds. I was engaged in the development of a multi-carbon fiber electrode recording technique for chronic activity observation during vocal learning in juvenile and adult birds. Currently I am studying connectivity of the brain in the Neurotechnology group. We trace neural tracts using various molecular techniques and reconstruct traced pathways in a whole brain volume and apply tissue clearing techniques. In my studies I use several optical microscopy platforms.
