In my semester project I will record from thalamic auditory neurons in the anesthetized zebra finch. Using a rich set of auditory stimuli, I hope to find different populations of neurons that are selective for a specific stimulus. The major part of my project will focus on extracellularly recording from neurons, labeling cells and analyzing the neurons' electrophysiological responses and morphologies.
