I received my BSc and MSc in Physics at Sapienza University of Rome in 2006 and 2009 respectively. During my Master, I contributed to the analysis of flocking dynamics of starlings. I then started my journey into neuroscience and I obtained a PhD in Physics at the Institute of Neuroinformatics working on the realization of a brain-inspired electronic system with learning capabilities.
My interests are in neuromorphic engineering, theoretical neuroscience, machine learning and complex systems. In particular, I am interested in rule-based behavior and learning and in the construction of artificial systems that implement those particular abilities. My current project focuses on real-world scenarios where continuous, online learning of context-dependent tasks is required for optimal resource management. I am a Wing Chun Kung Fu instructor, I have been a rower at National level in Italy and my hobbies are playing piano, singing and enjoying parenthood. Other interests include drama, photography, graphics and consumer electronics.
