The Indiveri Lab, the Neuromorphic Cognitive Systems Group at the Institute of Neuroinformatics (INI) led by Prof. Giacomo Indiveri, has been awarded the SPARKHub Gold Certification for its commitment to sustainable research practices.

The certification was granted following the endline assessment of the University of Zurich’s SPARKHub Certification programme, which recognises research groups that integrate sustainability measures into their daily laboratory and research workflows. More than 40 groups at UZH achieved certification across the Bronze, Silver, and Gold tiers by completing at least 70 percent of the required actions for their respective level.

This recognition highlights the group’s contribution to advancing more sustainable research operations and supporting UZH’s broader climate neutrality goals. By adopting and embedding sustainable practices in its everyday work, the Indiveri Lab contributes to efforts to make research activities more resource-conscious and environmentally responsible.

The SPARKHub programme will continue to provide support and resources to help research groups further strengthen sustainability in their daily activities.
